This early 19th century sword has a curved single edge blade with a fuller that runs close to the full length with double sided fine line engraving of floral vines over a royal crown and "GR" cypher on the left side and a Royal Arms on the right. The brass knuckle guard has an upward sweeping pierced cup and "GR" cypher with a peened lion's head pommel and double twist wire grip. CONDITION: Blade has a lightly mottled grey patina with some pitting. The engraving is fine and hard to photo but visible. Hilt is good with a few small traces of gilt remaining in the most protected of areas. Leather washer is present. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis (02-24699/ZAL) $500-800
