JOHN BURNBAUM. Sizable lot including John Burnbaum's leather covered bible. "Daily Pocket Remembrancer for 1865". This diary has hand written entries starting at January 1ST thru December 28TH 1865. Gutta-Percha 4 3/4" by 3 3/4" folding picture frame. Oval tin-type on right side shows a young soldier in uniform. Left side shows him as an elderly gentleman. Leather goods consist of belt with oval brass U. S. buckle, 2 large cartridge boxes with brass U. S. oval front flap adornments and one small cartridge box. Additional items include; a canteen, compass, folding knife & spoon with middle fork section missing. Two brass buckles, one is a U.S. marked oval. The second is circular with a Federal Eagle. Also included is a framed Confederate States $5.00 bill. CONDITION: bible & diary show wear. Bible has some torn page corners. Diary has a partially torn back binding. Leather goods have a dark, age hardened appearance showing some cracking and mildew spots. Circular buckle is cleaned bright. Other items are in good condition. (02-26961/DS). NON-GUN. $2,000-3,000.
