Australian Issue BSA Martini Cadet Single Shot Rifle, #72057, .32-20 Win. cal., 25.25" barrel, blued finish with bright breech block, hardwood stock set, blade front sight, and adjustable leaf rear sight with "V"- notched groove, graduated to 600 yards. Rear sight bed screw is missing. Left side of the receiver is marked "MADE BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS Co LTD/TRADE MARKS/BSA" and the right side with "COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA". There is an image of a Kangaroo on top of the receiver flat. Rifle was issued to the Commonwealth Military Forces in Queensland and stamped "CMF/Q/11697" on right side of the buttstock and "Q/11697"on right side of the receiver. The caliber was importer converted and is stamped "32 20" on the barrel knox form. Matching numbers on barrel and receiver. No visible import marks. Condition overall is very good as refinished, retaining approx. 75%-80% reblued finish; showing fine frosting to the receiver, barrel, and trigger guard/lever. Locking block is good with toning. Wood has been sanded and varnished, now very good, with a few scattered handling marks. Action and loaded chamber indicator operate smoothly. Bore is bright, with a few spots of pitting mid-barrel, rifling is good. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
