Antique Cased Belgian Brevete Copy of a Colt Model 1851 Squareback Navy Percussion Revolver, #2413, .36 cal., 7.5" barrel, originally with blue and case hardened finish, brass trigger guard and backstrap, smooth hardwood grips, with small iron cone front sight. Top barrel flat at the breech is marked "COLT BREVETE". Matching serial numbers on bottom flat of barrel assembly, frame, and trigger guard. Rear of the cylinder with a small Belgian proof mark. Accompanied by a hardwood compartmentalized & lined display case containing a metal & brass powder flask, a Colts Patent iron two-cavity bullet mold, cap tin, key, and numerous old lead balls. Condition of this revolver is fair+, no finish remains, metal now retains a mixture of gray and black patina, with areas of moderate pitting and erosion. Hardwood grips are near fine, with pleasing grain patterns, scattered handling marks particularly on the left side, and retain most of their finish. Although displaying the correct three "click" cocking action, the cylinder only rotates intermittently. Bore is fair, with traces of rifling visible, light rust and erosion. Condition of the case and accessories ranges from fair to good, showing varying degrees of age and wear, but remains consistent with the overall condition of the revolver. Est.: $800-$1,200. (Antique)
