Alex Henry Martini Falling block Rifle 22 Rim Fire Takedown

Alex Henry was a giant of rifle development in mid-Victorian Britain. One of Henry’s iconic sporting
rifles emerged in 1865 from his own patent in the form of a falling-block design that was much
copied by other makers.
These rifles were made on actions scaled for small, standard, and large bores and were superb
sporting rifles in their day.

This litte 22 carries that name ... Engraved on top of the barrel is the legend A HENRY & CO FREDERICKS
ST EDINBURGH.. on the left side of the barrel is also 22L and a British Proof Mark - Crown over what
appears to be UBP in scroll script. This puts the manufacture date between 1870 to 1925 at the latest.
Other than that the gun has no other stamps.

Condition is good with even bluing throughout.
The wood is good - does have a small repair (filled) to the wood behind the receiver at the top of the
stock. Other than that its sound all over with the usual bumps and scratches
Nice solid Brass butt plate.

Take down screw on the left does move. Gun cycles well and has ejector.

A very vintage gun from a very high end gunsmithing company.
