YORKSHIRE. The striking print, which measures approximately 21" by 13 3/4", is mounted in a black and gold frame approximately 25 1/2" by 32". The Yorkshire was built for the famous Black Ball Line and had a reputation for very fast passages in the North Atlantic. The Yorkshire could shave the usual 23 day run from Sandy Hook to Liverpool down to about 15 days. Built as a 996 ton ship by Webb in 1848. it was pictured on the United States Postal Service 28 cent international surface postal card in 1988. This print dates from the 20th century. CONDITION: print is clear and legible with distinct coloration. Frame has light wear and handling marks. (02-27143/RW). NON-GUN. $400-600.
