ASSOCIATION AMERICAN EAGLE COMMEMORATIVE LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 30 Luger. S# AE004. Bbl. 4 3/4". American Eagle Luger mfg. by AIMCO for NAPCA (National Automatic Pistol Collectors Association), commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Model 1900 American Eagle Luger. The top of the bbl. extension is marked "1900" above the Great Seal of the United States and "2000", with the intertwined DWM monogram logo marked on the toggle. Top of the bbl. is engraved "NATIONAL AUTOMATIC PISTOL COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION". Left side of the frame is engraved "100 YEARS/ AMERICAN EAGLE", with "AIMCO INC HOUSTON TEXAS", followed by the S# "AE 004" marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a dark blue finish overall, with some small parts including the takedown lever, trigger, mag. release button, extractor, and ejector exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, and features a grip safety. Dovetailed blade front sight with fixed V-notch rear sight. Dished toggle "ears" with impressed checkering along forward edges. Rear toggle link matches the frame via "04", with remaining parts being unnumbered. MAGS: x1 8-rd. with unmarked wood plug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: plain wood display case featuring a green felt lined foam interior. Case contains its original manual, beneath the lid's foam pad. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory finishes overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of very light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good to excellent overall. Display case is very good, with some light superficial marks from handling and storage. (26-1948/MLW). MODERN. $2,000-3,500.
