1) An interesting assembled short saber measuring 32 1/2" overall with a reused blade measuring 27 1/2" that has light generic etching near the hilt. The Interesting brass hilt has a 2-branch knuckle bow and plain guard. The grip appears to be tightly wrapped cord. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a dark mottled patina and the hilt has a pleasing dark mustard patina. Grip is worn but intact. 2) A heavy US M1860 Cavalry saber measuring 43 1/2" overall with plain 35" blade marked at the ricasso " EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON N.J. " and " U.S D.F.M 1864 ". Standard 2-branch brass hilt with a wire wrapped leather grip. Heavy iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray mottled patina with several nicks to the edge. Hilt is slightly misshaped with a pleasing patina. Grip shows light wear. Scabbard is undamaged and boasts a pleasing mottled gray patina. 3) A non-regulation Civil War era officer's sword measuring 41" overall with an etched 32" blade with no manufacturers markings. The etching includes a variety of foliate motifs along with an American eagle, stylized "US", and a spray of American arms. Gilded brass hilt with 3 branches and a knuckle bow. The guard has an inset American eagle resembling a Hardee hat eagle. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip. Scabbard was gilded brass mounted and leather covered but the leather is gone. CONDITION: blade is worn but the etching is still discernable. Hilt retains only traces of original gilding. Shark skin is worn and the wire is loose but substantially present. Scabbard mounts have only slight traces of original gilding. Scabbard body covering is completely gone. (02-25902/BF). NON-GUN. $600-900.
