SCABBARD. Gently curved 15 3/4" fullered single edge blade. Fancy chiseled iron hilt with a downward sloping quillon with a chiseled dogs head finial. There is a single makers mark on the underside of the diminutive contoured guard. The knuckle bow is a single bar with 3-chiseled mascoron faces. The pommel is lipped with a peened pin fastening it to the hilt and is also decorated with chiseled mascoron faces and birds. The upper bolster is a chiseled ferrule with a bird and foliate motif. The grip is a smooth rose agate with carved flat straps. It is accompanied with a leather scabbard with a single throat band with chiseled mascaron face panels. CONDITION: Overall very good. Blade has a light mottling to the matted grey patina. The hilt is very fine with nice detail. The grip is very fine. Scabbard has some crazing , a few small tears and is slightly undersized. .
